Today is the last day of my vacation from life. Tomorrow I'm back at work and life goes into high gear. Today the boys finished packing their backpacks for school. I bought all the stuff except backpacks in July so today we got backpacks. I know there are kids out there who can make it through more than one year with a backpack but my kids are not like that.
Wednesday is Sawyer's 9th bday and a bbq with our small group. Thursday after work we get our international student. (more later in the post) Friday is our 15th wedding anniversary. We are planning to go to the waterslides with our church. Very romantic I know. I know there are people out there with much busier schedules but for me this is crazy. I strive to live a simple quiet life because I don't handle stress well. So this week I will just pray more than usual.
So we are getting an international student for the school year. His name is Kao Tzu and he is from Taiwan. He will be a freshman at LCHS. I don't know if I could let my boys go at that age but things are very different in Taiwan. We were feeling a hole in our family and home this past spring so we started parying. Eric came home one night and started talking about the Host Family program. This seemed like such a great fit for our family that we put in our application. And prayed. Because we wanted a boy we moved up the list very quickly. We are so excited and honored to have Kao as a part of our family. We have been praying that he will be a good match for our family. If things go well we could have him all throughout his HS career. We would appreciate all the prayers we can get.
