Molasses cookies

It is the baking season at my house. I love the smell of cookies, scones and breads baking in my oven. My favorite recipe this year is for molasses cookies. I made some last night for book club but accidently used all whole wheat flour. They turned out really good. So here is the recipe.
Molasses Cookies

¾ cup butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
4 Tbsp molasses
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
2 cups whole wheat flour
2 tsp baking soda
Extra sugar, for coating the cookies

Cream the butter with the sugar and egg. Add molasses and spices; mix well. Add flour and baking soda and blend. Chill dough 30 minutes, covered tightly.
Using a small cookie scoop make balls of dough and roll them in sugar. Bake for 10-12 minutes.

I hope you take some time to bake your favorite things and share them with those you love. Or you could call me and see what I'm baking. I love to share.
